The brand believes that the main responsibility of fashion companies is obviously to change their production, distribution and marketing practices and strategies towards greater sustainability.

Tencel Collection - Upcycled at Lakme Fashion Week

“We are a fashion brand who believe in sustainability. Around 350,000 tons of used clothes go off to landfills and 95% of these discarded clothes can be recycled or up-cycled.” says brand’s co-founder Thasneem Masood. “We are not just about creating beautiful clothes but to enable our customers to make empowered choices and help create a long-term lifestyle solution for them.”

“Being in this industry and with the rising concern impacting the environment we have taken it as our Corporate Social Responsibility to ensure maximum recycling / upcycling of discarded clothes. #FashUp was an opportunity to show the world the causes and efforts that should be celebrated as we move towards a more sustainable future. Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 edition used approx. 7,000 meters of Tencel Micromodal fabric as a part of a sustainable fashion installation in its central avenue at Jio Garden in BKC, Mumbai. #FashUp is a special initiative by Lakme Fashion Week and Fashion Revolution India, supported by Lenzing AG and Tencel India for greater transparency in the fashion supply chain. #FashUp @ Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019  was a great opportunity for us and so much aligned to our brand’s story and mission. We happy to partner with Tencel India, Lakme Fashion Week and Fashion revolution India” on this project, adds Thasneem Masood.
